Thank you guys for your replies! Two notes:
1) I am cheap, which is why I was asking about Androids - I thought I might save some money.
2) My husband is the type of guy who will take his phone on a fishing trip and drop it in the lake, so I was hoping for something cheaper for him, but one he could still use to load Google maps.
