I never needed anything different before. I worked from home, where I have access to computers. I didn’t make enough money to afford anything better, anyway. I only used the cell to receive calls from my husband, who’s on the road constantly, and to text him with things like, “We’re at the library with tons of books - u home soon to pick us up?”

But my new job requires me to have a good appointment book and I often have an hour and a half downtime in the middle of the day. I’ve been borrowing my son’s iPod and have become addicted to Words With Friends at lunch, but have no Wi-Fi during the downtime, so I play other word games. I’d tweet if I could.

Do I want an iPhone? Is there an Android equivalent that would be cheaper?

My husband needs map programs and doesn’t care about social networking or word games.

What’s the point of a Blackberry? They’re very popular with people at work, but are they mainly for texting?
